mozilla-firefox-so-design-1024x768Mozilla Firefox is one of the best web browsers  I have seen till now. Mozilla Firefox is having a lot of features other than IE7 or Opera but it’s speed is slower. Have you also been playing around with Firefox and noticed that it is not as fast as other browsers such as IE7 or Opera? There are some simple hacks by which you can change some of Firefox's advanced settings and this hacks really boost up the speed of Firefox so let us see how to do this:

STEPS:

  • Open Mozilla Firefox and type about:config in address bar then press enter.
  • Many Filters will be displayed in which we have to perform the changes.
  • We have to perform the changes as follows:
  • changes can be performed just by double clicking that filter.
    • content.interrupt.parsing – true
    • content.max.tokenizing.time – 2250000
    • content.notify.interval – 750000
    • content.notify.ontimer – true
    • content.switch.threshold – 750000
    • nglayout.initialpaint.delay – 0
    • network.http.max-connections – 48
    • network.http.max-connections-per-server – 16
    • network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-proxy – 16
    • network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server – 8
    • browser.cache.memory.capacity – 65536
    • network.http.pipelining – true
    • network.http.proxy.pipelining – true
    • network.http.pipelining.maxrequests – 8
    • content.notify.backoffcount – 5
    • plugin.expose_full_path – true
    • ui.submenuDelay – 0
  • If you don’t find any of the filter listed above then perform this:
    • right click>new>integer or float
  • Integer if value has to be filled and boolean if true is to be filled then enter the filter name and then the integer value or boolean value.

Hope this helps everyone get the most out of Mozilla Firefox!!!

Cowon released their newest MP3 player S9 on December 9, 2008 which have 3.3 inch AMOLED touch screen display get latest tech news@vlinked(16 million colors in 480×272 pixels resolution).

Cowon S9 powered by dual-core CPU 500MHz featuring T-DMB digital television tuner, Bluetooth connection, FM radio, text/photo viewer, e-dictionary, tv-out and G-sensor accelerator. The body of S9 from cowon mp3 player has slim design with battery life time up to 55 hours for music playback, 11 hours for video playback and up to 350 hours at standby time.

Cowon iAudio S9 8GB Features

  • Zoom UI: With this new totally touch screen user interface, Cowon have kept the depth of control possible with previous players, but made day-to-day operation simplicity itself. Your main functions are represented by a set of simple icons on the main screen and on entering any of these options, you’re presented with a simple list of track, or videos or photos. Text too small? Use the zoom bar and make it bigger. Not sure what a certain video file is? A looping thumbnail shows some footage from it, right there on the menu. And again, you can zoom in. The S9 features G sensor technology, so it knows which way up it’s being held. So, you can turn it on it’s side and scroll through a list of album covers, instead of a textual track list. Watching a movie, it doesn’t matter what way up you hold it, the S9 will re-format the file to display the right way up and as big as possible on the 3.3 inch - 480 x 272 pixel AMOLED screen.
  • Audio: The S9 uses Cowon’s new BBE+ audio architecture. This architecture is a range of sound processes that give incredible reproduction of good quality sources and can boost the quality of low-quality sources beyond comparison.
  • Video:  Well, traditionally, portable screens use LCD displays. These have a mask layer of pixels, which can change colour - filtering light from a backlight to create images. The technology is well-proven, but has some limitations. There is a lag time with the pixels changing, which can cause rapidly moving images to get slightly ‘muddy’. Also, their very design means they waste energy - they filter and cut down light output from a backlight. AMOLED works differently. It still uses individual pixels (480 x 272 in the S9) but the pixels themselves emit light and change much quicker than LCD. This means the screen is sharper, pixel for pixel, much brighter and movement is pin-sharp. Movies on the S9 are incredible - this is really the first pocket device we can wholeheartedly say we have no problem watching full length movies on. It’s bright and crisp, but not taxing on the eye as there is no ghosting or blur. The S9 can play Xvid SP/ASP and WMV9SP/MP files natively, and supports SMI subtitles. Playback time is an amazing 11 hours of continuous video!
  • TV Out Functionality: The S9 has the ability (with the separately available TV-Out cables) to display the contents on a full size TV.
  • Bluetooth: The S9 supports full bluetooth A2DP and AVRCP functionality. This means you can connect the player to bluetooth devices like headphones without a plug-in dongle and even use any buttons the headphones have to control the player.
  • Picture Viewer: It accepts JPEG files and will resize any image for display - so you can bluetooth an image from your 8MP camera phone and the S9 will display in full 3.3 inch 16 million colour.
  • FM Radio
  • Document Reader: you can load text files and read them comfortably on the widescreen display - with the benefit of the Zoom UI if you need to make the text larger.
  • Flash Player: A flash player, allows you to download flash games and utilities from the internet and integrate them with your player.
  • Calculator
  • Cowon iAudio S9 8GB MP3 Player cost £169.00

Cowon S9 will be available in 3 different capacities: 4GB (219,000 KRW), 8 GB (259,000 KRW), and 16GB (309,000 KRW).

Basically in DOS mode, you type in commands for each operation which you want your computer to perform and execute them by hitting Enter. But all this is a manual process (meaning you have to do it). How to Create Your Own Virus Using Batch Programming What if you can make your computer to shutdown automatically, or make it delete files without anyone's consent? That is where batch programming help you out. It helps you to execute any type and number of DOS commands automatically as soon as the '.bat' file which you create is executed. This bat file obviously contains the DOS commands which you want it to execute. Here is how you do it.

STEPS:

  • Open Notepad and type in the example given below.
    • echo
    • dir /ah/p/w
    • echo
  • Save the file as Filename.bat, where Filename may be anything of your wish.
  • Assuming that you saved the file to your desktop, you should see a new file with the .bat extension. Copy that file to a new location, like C:\Windows\, and then try executing it. You should see a command window, showing all the files[including hidden and locked files] in the Windows Directory.
  • Allow your creativity to take control while your batch programming, you can use any DOS commands for this method. Whether this is really good or really bad, depends on how you use it.

Windows Vista is more advanced then Windows xp lets see what’s the difference in it!diff b/w xp and vista

1.    Images are bigger in vista

Windows xp:

  • With Windows XP it was possible to create images that would fit easily on a single CD (less than 700MB). Even organizations that added applications, drivers, and utilities to their image typically ended up with an operating system image in the 1GB to 3GB range.

Windows Vista:

  • With Windows Vista, image size begins at about 2GB—compressed. Once this image is deployed, the size is often around 5GB or more, and there's no way to reduce it. If you add additional applications, drivers, or other files, this image obviously grows even larger.

2.    Bitlocker

Windows xp:

  • Windows XP has . No Bitlocker option

Windows Vista:

  • Bitlocker Option available Bitlocker drive encryption, Bitlocker on volume
  • Prevents hard drive from hackers

3.    Windows defender tool

Windows Xp:

  • Windows XP has No Windows Defender tool available

Windows Vista:

  • Windows Vista has Windows Defender tool
  • prevents from spyware & unwanted S/W installing on computer

4.    Parental control

Windows Xp:

  • Windows XP has No Parental control Feature

Windows Vista:

  • Windows Vista has Parental control Feature
  • This option enables parents to restrict Children’s which sites, games .software to use & not

5.    Security is enhanced

Windows Xp:

  • Some applications failed to work on Windows XP when users did not have administrator access because they assumed they would have full access to the C: drive and all parts of the registry.

Windows Vista:

  • A number of Windows Vista security enhancements will impact deployment. For example, configuring Windows Vista to support "low rights" users, where the logged-on user does not have administrator rights, is easier. S With Windows Vista, applications that attempt to write to restricted areas will have those writes transparently redirected to other locations in the user's profile.

6.    No More HAL Complications

Windows Xp:

  • With Windows XP, technical restrictions prevented the creation of a single image that could be deployed to all computers. Different hardware abstraction layers (HALs) meant you had to maintain multiple images. (For more on this see the Knowledge Base article "HAL options after Windows XP or Windows Server 2003 Setup") Most organizations needed two or three images per platform (x86 and x64) and some chose to have even more—though each image brings added costs and complexity.

Windows Vista:

  • In Windows Vista, those technical restrictions are gone; the operating system is able to detect which HAL is required and automatically install it.

7.    Deployment Is Language-Neutral

Windows Xp:

  • Windows XP supported different languages in two ways. You could either deploy localized versions of Windows XP, requiring a different image for each language, or you could deploy an English Multilanguage User Interface (MUI) version with added language packs. There were advantages and disadvantages to each approach, but in most cases organizations that needed to support multiple languages took the MUI route, dealing with the limitations of running with an operating system that was effectively English at its core. Organizations that worked only with one language typically chose to use only the localized versions.

Windows Vista:

  • Now with Windows Vista, the entire operating system is language-neutral. One or more language packs are added to this language-neutral core to create the image that is deployed (although only some versions of Windows Vista support multiple languages).

8.    Text-Mode Installation Is Gone

Windows Xp:

  • The image preparation process has also changed. With Windows XP, you would "Sysprep" a machine to prepare the reference operating system for deployment.

Windows Vista:

  • With Windows Vista, you'll still run Sysprep.exe (installed by default in C:\Windows\System32\Sysprep), which will "generalize" the machine for duplication.

This is a simple Easy to do Introduction on how to change your start button text, image, and hover text. This is a fun way to Spruce up your computer to your special touch! How to Change Text on Windows XP Start Button

STEPS:

  • First of all, make sure you download Resource Hacker.(See Ext. Links below to download Resource Hacker) You'll need this software to edit resources inside your Windows shell.
  • Locate explorer.exe in your c:\Windows directory. Make a copy of the file in the same directory and rename it explorer.bak.
  • Now launch Resource Hacker. In the File menu, open explorer.exe. You'll now see a bunch of collapsed folders.
  • Expand the String Table folder and then find folder No. 37 (folder No. 38 if you're in Windows Classic mode).
  • Click on resource 1033 and locate the text that says "Start." This is your Start button, and now you've got control over what it says! Change the "Start" text to your text of choice. You don't have a character limit, but the text takes up valuable taskbar space, so don't make it too long.
  • Click on the button labeled Compile Script. This updates the settings for your Start button. But nothing will happen until you restart (see "shutdown/startup process"), so keep going!

CHANGE YOUR HOVER TEXT:

  • While you're here, why not also change the text that pops up when your mouse hovers over your Start button?
  • Right now it says "Click here to begin." Well, duh! We already know that's where to begin!
  • Open folder No. 34 and click on resource 1033.
  • Find the text that says "Click here to begin" and change it to something cooler.
  • Click on the Compile Script button to update this resource.

CUSTOMIZE YOUR START ICON:

  • For an added bonus, you can also change the Windows icon to the left of the text, too.
  • Collapse the String Table folder and expand the Bitmap folder at the top of your folder list.
  • Click on folder No. 143 and click on resource 1033. You should see that familiar Windows icon.
  • Go to the Action Menu and select "Replace bitmap." Select "Open file with new bitmap", and locate the replacement image on your machine. Note: The image must have a .bmp extension and a size of 30 pixels by 30 pixels. Then click the Replace button.

SHUTDOWN/STARTUP PROCESS:

  • Now that you've made your changes, save the file in your Windows folder with another name, such as explorer2.exe. Don't name it Explorer.exe, because that file is already being used by your system. Close all open programs and restart your system.
  • Boot into Safe Mode With Command Prompt by pressing F8 on startup. Then choose Safe Mode in the command prompt.
  • Log on as administrator and enter your password.
  • When the command prompt comes up, make sure you're in the right directory by typing "cd c:\windows" (without the quotes).
  • Now type "copy c:\windows\explorer2.exe c:\windows\explorer.exe" (no quotes). Type "yes" (no quotes) to overwrite the existing file, then restart your system by typing "shutdown -r" (no quotes).
  • When Windows relaunches, you'll see your new Start button in all its glory!
  • An easier way to enable the new settings is to open task manager and end all instances of "explorer.exe" then click "save" in the Resource Hacker menu. At this point you might see a "Windows File Protection" popup. this is just telling you that the file was modified (which it was, by you)just click "cancel" then "ok". the final step is to open up task manager then click on "new task" then enter "c:\windows\explorer2.exe" (all without quotes) and you should see your changes.

So, Lost your Windows XP password, have you? Or much, MUCH worse, you lost the password to your main Computer Administrator! Don't worry- I'll tell you what to do!

STEPS:recover your windows password

  • Before anything else, if you have lost the password of a regular user, ask the computer administrator. If the computer administrator isn't available at the time, you can do the next best thing. Note that you'll have to use the command window.
  • If you CAN log on to another account, skip to step 4. If not, go to the next step.
  • You have to reboot your computer. However, press F8 before it has completely booted, so another black screen shows up. In that black screen, use the arrows up and down to scroll options, the option you want to choose is: "Safe Mode with Command Prompt". Press enter to select that option. Hang in a second. Give it some time to boot; this can take longer than your usual boot-process. When it has booted, you will see the same black screen as in CMD. Go to step 5.
  • If you can log on to another account, you should log in to that account and open the "START" menu. Now, click on "RUN", and type cmd. A black screen will pop up.
  • In the command screen, you'll have to type "net user", followed by the account name that needs password recovery. followed by " *". Note the space between the username and the star. (e.g. "net user bob *")
  • Type in your new password. (You will NOT see any characters) Press enter, and repeat the password.
  • Your password should be changed. Note that if you repeated the passwords with errors it will still say "The command completed successfully". Therefore, if it did not work, try doing it again. If you used another account on your computer to do this, go to step 3 and try that method.

TIPS:

  • A good thing to do is create a password reset disk. The Forgotten Password Wizard lets you create a password reset disk that you can use to recover your user account and personalized computer settings if you forget your password.
  • The steps to perform this task differ depending on whether your computer is a member of a network domain or is part of a workgroup (or is a stand-alone computer).
  • If your computer is on a domain
    • Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to open the Windows Security dialog box.
    • Click Change Password.
    • Click Backup to open the Forgotten Password Wizard.
    • Click Next and then follow the instructions as they appear on the screen.
  • If you are not on a domain but have a computer administrator account
    • Open User Accounts in Control Panel.
    • Click your account name.
    • Under Related Tasks located on the left side of the window, click Prevent a forgotten password.
    • In the Forgotten Password Wizard, follow the instructions as they appear on the screen.
  • If you are not on a domain but have a limited account
    • Open User Accounts in Control Panel.
    • Under Related Tasks located on the left side of the window, click Prevent a forgotten password.
    • In the Forgotten Password Wizard, follow the instructions as they appear on the screen.
